“Total disability” is defined as a sickness or injury that prevents you from attending classes and performing the normal duties of a medical student, and requires the regular care and attendance of a physician other than yourself or a family member. The disability must begin while you are actively engaged full time in the school’s curriculum and while covered under the Certificate of Insurance. Benefits will not be payable for more than one disability at the same time, regardless of multiple causes.
Your acceptance is guaranteed if you are under age 40 and a full-time student of a medical school or an osteopathic medical school approved by an appropriate accrediting agency when you enroll during Open Enrollment from July 1- December 31.
The benefits provided by this coverage are paid on top of any other insurance you have.

Yes, you will have an opportunity to continue your coverage beyond graduation.
Your coverage will be effective on the first day of the month after receipt of your enrollment form, provided eligibility requirements are met and the premiums are paid when due.
Once you receive your Certificate of Insurance you’ll have up to 30 days to review the policy at no obligation. If you decide you are not satisfied with your coverage, you may return it, without claim and your coverage will be invalidated. You will receive a full refund of any premiums you have already paid — no questions asked. If you have not yet paid your first premium, no payment is due.
